PRIVACY POLICY ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Before you provide us with your personal data – in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and Legislative Decree no. 196/03 and subsequent amendments – it is necessary for you to read a series of information that can help you understand the reasons why your personal data will be processed, explaining what your rights are and how you can exercise them.

1. Data controller and contacts
Meedox Srl (P.I. 15776151001), with headquarters in Piazza Sallustio 3, 00187, Rome (Italy), is the data controller of the personal data collected through the platform.     Meedox collects and processes the following personal data:
  • Identification data such as name, surname, date of birth, email, telephone number.
  • Health and biometric data such as medical reports, diagnostic images, data relating to health conditions.
  • Usage data such as interactions with the platform, service preferences, search history.

  1. Purpose and legal basis of the processing of personal data

By using the App and accessing the related Service, some of your personal data, including data suitable for revealing your state of health, will be processed in accordance with the current legislation on the protection of personal data. The use of the App and the Service, in particular, is connected to the processing of the following types of data:
a) data relating to your authentication (email address, username, password) necessary to access the Application and the Service;
b) data of a purely technical nature (such as, for example: operating system version, browser used, type of device, etc.) which may be acquired, in a completely automated manner, by the computer systems queried by your device, when collecting and/or sending the data and information connected to the use of the App and the web Service;
c) common personal data (such as name, surname, date of birth, place of birth and gender) that will be processed in order to authorize specific processes connected to the execution of the Service (such as, for example, acceptance of legal notices, definition of visibility criteria applied to specific documents or information, expression or revocation of consent to the consultation of the health archive by social-health workers, management of authorization processes for access to social-health documents relating to minors);
d) common and particular personal data (relating to those indicated in any prescriptions uploaded to the APP).
e) synthetic evaluation and profiling data (e.g. the meedox rating, or other summary indices), generic, anonymized and in any case not suitable for revealing data that allow your state of health to be revealed.

With regard to the data relating to your authentication (a), the data of a purely technical nature (b), and those relating to the requests referred to in point (c), you are informed that such data will be processed for purposes strictly connected and instrumental to the execution of the App and the functionality of the website.

For the data processed referred to in letters a), b) and c), e), the legal basis of the processing for the purposes detailed above is the consent of the interested party, pursuant to art. 6, par. 1, letter a) of EU Regulation 2016/679. Such data may also be processed in compliance with any legal obligations. Only the data relating to your authentication (a) and those of a purely technical nature (b) – after complete anonymization – may also be processed to process statistical information on the use of the Application and to verify its respective functioning.

The data referred to in letters a), b), c), e), with your explicit consent, may be used to send commercial proposals also through focused and selected analyses; send advertising and/or commercial proposals based on the anonymous profiling of your data, implemented to be able to highlight information and commercial proposals tuned to the interests you have expressed by accessing the pages and using the services available on this site.

5. Method of data processing

The processing will be carried out with the aid of electronic or automated means, for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes pursued as signed with the interested party. The data controller adopts adequate technical and organizational measures to guarantee a level of security suitable for the type of data processed.

6. Nature of the provision of data

The provision of data relating to your authentication (a) and of a purely technical nature (b) must be considered mandatory. Failure to provide such data will make it impossible for the user to access the App and the web portal and for Meedox Srl to provide the Service.

With regard to the data processed in the context of the “transmission requests” forwarded by you in order to authorize particular processes (c), relating to the requests necessary for the execution of the App and the Service itself (e.g. the request relating to the acceptance of the terms of use), the provision of data must be considered mandatory and failure to provide such data will make it impossible for the user to access the App and for Meedox Srl to provide the Service.

7. Recipients and data communication scope

Your data will be processed exclusively by the data controller, by authorized persons and by appointed managers – Meedox Srl in the person of the administrator pro tempore – and any other suppliers of the data controller, and by the relevant personnel specifically trained in data processing and protection, to ensure the same level of security offered by the data controller.

The data referred to in letters d) and e) will have as their legal basis your consent, which will be requested on specific pages of the site and preceded by our specific information or via cookies (see the section dedicated to the cookie policy). In this case, the provision of data is absolutely free, and in the absence of your consent the data will not be collected and used in any way for these purposes.

Furthermore, it is possible to revoke the consent given at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing already carried out according to the methods indicated in the following paragraphs.

Without prejudice to the above, on the web pages, an information notice is made available, from time to time, which reports, among other things, the legal basis of the processing connected to the requested service.

Beyond the hypotheses considered, your personal data will never be communicated to third parties, except in fulfillment of any contractual and/or legal obligations. The data will not be disseminated in any way.

8. Transfer of personal data to countries outside the European Union

The data collected and processed are not transferred to companies or other entities outside the EU. And regarding transfers outside the EU, we specify that cloud providers use servers within the EU.

9. Data storage period

The processing operations implemented by the Application entail a data retention period equal to the period of use of the App and the Service itself. After the aforementioned retention periods have elapsed, the data may be further retained only in compliance with specific legal obligations.

10. Automated processes and profiling

The personal data provided are not subject to any fully automated decision-making process, including profiling, which may produce legal effects on you, or which may significantly affect you.

11. Rights of the interested party

As the interested party to the processing, you have the right to exercise, in the cases expressly provided for by law (art. 15 et seq., EU Regulation 2016/679), the following rights:

a) ask the data controller for access to the personal data concerning you, and/or their possible rectification or erasure;

b) ask the data controller to limit the processing concerning you, or to oppose the processing;

c) demand the so-called “portability” of the data (i.e. their communication in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format), also in order to be able to communicate your personal data to another data controller;

d) revoke, at any time, your consent to the processing of the data concerning you (without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the revocation of consent); e) lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (the Guarantor for the protection of personal data). Your requests for the exercise of your rights must be sent to the email address privacy@meedox.com, or via certified email to meedoxsrl@pec.it, or via registered mail to Piazza Sallustio 3 – 00187 Rome. 

COOKIES POLICY

Express consent for the use of cookies and other profiling technologies necessary for registration

In line with the company policy that provides for the utmost respect for privacy protection, Meedox uses:

  1. Technical cookies necessary for the operation of the application:

    1. user profile

    2. registration account

    3. device information (operating system version, browser used, type of device).

  2. “Profiling cookies”. These are used to create user profiles and to send targeted advertising messages based on the preferences of the interested party. In this case, the consent of the person is required.

  3. third-party cookies. These are cookies installed on the site / app by third parties. The owner provides links that direct the interested party to information notices and consent forms provided by third parties. The interested party will give or not their consent directly to the third party.

  4. non-technical profiling cookies.

The information provided by the data owner and stored in the computer systems of the Owner (also through the use of cookies) can be cross-checked with other information obtained from the Owner. This is for analytics and profiling purposes and all information is pseudo-anonymized.

Policy Updates

Privacy Policy Updates Meedox reserves the right to update this policy periodically. Users will be notified via:

  • Email sent to the address associated with the account.

  • In-app push notification.

  • A message visible in the platform dashboard.

The changes will take effect 30 days after publication, unless otherwise specified by law.

Applicable Law and Competent Court

This Privacy Policy is governed by Italian law. For any dispute relating to the processing of personal data, the exclusive jurisdiction is attributed to the Court of Rome, except for mandatory consumer protection provisions.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Purpose of AI Treatment

Meedox uses AI systems to:

  • Analyze health data to offer personalized services.
  • Support health monitoring with notifications and recommendations.
  • Optimize diagnosis and management of health conditions.
  • Personalize health services based on the user’s needs.

Security and Transparency in the use of AI

  • The processed data is minimized and anonymized when possible.
  • Automated decision-making processes are explainable and transparent.
  • No critical decision is taken solely by an automated system.
  • Meedox follows the National Framework for Artificial Intelligence and the European AI Act.

User rights on AI processes

Users have the right to:

  • Be informed about the use of AI.
  • Request explanations on decisions taken by algorithms.
  • Revoke consent to the use of AI for the processing of their personal data.
  • Request human intervention in automated decisions.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Meedox uses Artificial Intelligence systems to improve the services offered to users. AI is used to analyze the health data provided, in order to:

  • Provide more accurate diagnoses.
  • Monitor health status in real time.
  • Personalize health services based on individual needs.

How AI Processes Personal Data

Personal data, including sensitive data such as health information, is processed by our AI algorithms in compliance with the principles of minimization and proportionality, processing only the information strictly necessary for the purposes indicated above. We adopt appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure data security throughout the entire processing process.

Automated Decisions and Human Intervention

Some decision-making processes may be automated through AI. However, Meedox always guarantees the possibility of human intervention, offering users the opportunity to:

  • Request a review of automated decisions.
  • Get explanations on how the system works.
  • Express their opinion on the decisions taken.

Transparency and Rights of Interested Parties

Meedox is committed to providing clear and transparent information on the use of AI. Users have the right to:

  • Be informed about the existence of automated decision-making processes.
  • Know the logic applied and the envisaged consequences of such processing.
  • Revoke consent to data processing by AI at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its revocation.

Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)

In accordance with Article 35 of the GDPR, Meedox has carried out a data protection impact assessment related to the use of AI, in order to identify and mitigate potential risks to the rights and freedoms of data subjects.

Meedox is committed to developing and deploying reliable, transparent and ethical AI systems, in line with national and European guidelines on AI regulation. In particular, our use of technology follows the principles defined in the National Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Italy, as well as the recommendations of the High-Level Expert Group on AI (HLEG) of the European Commission.

The adoption of these standards ensures that the AI ​​used by Meedox respects the following key principles:

  • Legality → compliance with the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and the ePrivacy Directive for the processing of health and biometric data.
  • Reliability → use of explainable AI techniques to ensure transparency of automated decisions.
  • Ethics → adoption of fairness, non-discrimination and security measures to avoid bias in the data and ensure adequate protection for users.
  • Controllability → ability for users to request human intervention in automated decisions and to obtain explanations on the results generated by AI.
  • Security and Robustness → periodic security assessments of AI models to prevent vulnerabilities and ensure responsible use of the technology.

Adoption of a risk-based approach

Meedox has implemented a risk-based approach in the design and implementation of its AI systems, adopting the methodologies suggested by the National Framework for AI and the European Regulation on AI (AI Act, in the process of being approved). This means that:

  • A Personal Data Impact Assessment (DPIA) is carried out to analyze any risks arising from the use of AI.
  • AI models are tested periodically to ensure that they operate in a fair, non-discriminatory manner and in compliance with the declared purposes.
  • Meedox adopts governance mechanisms and internal audits to guarantee the integrity of automated decision-making processes.

Meedox does not guarantee the accuracy of the information provided by the AI ​​and does not assume responsibility for medical decisions based solely on the data processed by the platform.

The information provided by Meedox Artificial Intelligence systems is for support purposes only and does not in any way replace the advice of a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.

Updates and Changes

This section on Artificial Intelligence may be subject to change as a result of regulatory or technological developments. We invite users to periodically consult the privacy policy to stay updated on any changes.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These general terms of use and legal information (hereinafter referred to as the “General Terms”) apply to Meedox Srl (hereinafter “Meedox”), whose website is https://www.meedox.com and its related mobile application, as well as all related sites or sites linked from https://www.meedox.com including Meedox’s websites worldwide (hereinafter and jointly referred to as the “Site”). The site is owned by Meedox. By using the site, you expressly accept and agree to these terms of use. If you do not accept them, refrain from using it.

Through this document, Meedox makes available to users (hereinafter, “User” or “Users”) the Internet site and the web and mobile applications of Meedox (hereinafter jointly referred to as the “Platform”).

In accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation, the following identification data of the owner of the Platform are provided below:

1. Object

Meedox is a company whose main activity consists in the development and management of an ecosystem of web and mobile applications through which the end user can use services in the Health and Wellness sector. The user can register, log in and manage their profile, documents and health information for free. Meedox is paid only for those who want to use the application services to manage profiles other than their own (for example, family members and/or pets). Therefore, the user, to use Meedox services as a caregiver, must activate a Premium subscription (hereinafter referred to as Subscription), monthly or annual, to manage other profiles together with their own. The Subscription has a different price depending on whether the user chooses to pay monthly or annually, or depending on whether the user chooses to manage a certain number of profiles. Furthermore, the price may vary based on temporary and/or periodic promotions.

Through this document, Meedox confirms that it has obtained all the necessary licenses to carry out its commercial activities in the country in which it operates.

  1. Terms of Use

By accessing the Platform and voluntarily creating a profile, all Users expressly and unequivocally acknowledge and accept these General Terms of Use and Subcontracting as well as those of the Privacy and Cookie Policy (àncora alla parte sulla privacy policy).

3. Access and Registration of Users

To be a User of the Platform, it is essential to meet the following requirements:

  • Users must be at least 18 years old.

  • Users must truthfully complete the mandatory fields of the registration form.

  • Users must accept all the Terms and Conditions.

  • Users must accept the Privacy, Cookies and Data Protection Policy (àncora alla parte sulla privacy policy).

The User guarantees that all information relating to his/her identity provided to Meedox in the registration forms for the Platform is true, accurate and complete. Furthermore, Users undertake to keep their data updated.

If a User provides false, inaccurate or incomplete information or if Meedox believes that there are well-founded reasons to doubt the truthfulness, accuracy or completeness of such information, Meedox may, after prior notice, deny the User present or future access to the Platform or any of its contents and/or services as well as the use thereof.

When registering on the Platform, Users must enter an email address and choose a password. Both the email address and password are strictly confidential, personal and non-transferable. To increase the security of accounts, Meedox recommends that Users do not use the same login credentials as other platforms. If a User uses the same login credentials as other platforms, Meedox will not be able to guarantee the security of the account or that the User is the only person logging in to his/her profile.

Users undertake not to disclose their account details and not to allow access to their account to third parties. Users will be solely responsible for any use of such data or of the services of the Site that may be performed by third parties, including the statements and/or content entered into the Platform, or for any other action performed with their username and/or password.

Users are the sole owners of the content they insert into the Platform.

Meedox does not guarantee the identity of registered Users and will therefore not be responsible for the use by unauthorized third parties of the identity of a registered User. Users undertake to immediately inform Meedox, using the communication channels made available by Meedox, in the event that their credentials are stolen, disclosed or lost.

3.1 Profile

To complete their registration on the Platform, Users must provide specific details, such as: name, surname and email address among others. Once the registration process is completed, all Users will be able to access their profile and complete and modify it, as they see fit. Meedox does not save the payment data of the Users, which will be processed and saved by the payment service provider as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

4. Service operation. Terms of the Mandate.

When a User needs a service offered, he/she must go to the Platform and request the service using the electronic methods mentioned.

Users must provide all information, in as much detail as possible.

5. Service Prices

Users may register on the Platform and use it free of charge, reserving the right to decide otherwise, after notifying the users themselves of the established changes. Users may be required to pay for some services on the Platform as provided in these General Terms and Conditions of Use.

5.1 Meedox Premium: the subscription

Meedox service comes with 3 types of Premium subscription: Small, Medium and Large.

The description of the services associated with each modality is detailed at https://www.meedox.com/en/meedox-premium-subscription and is subject to updates.

Payments for all usage fees, whether annual or monthly, are to be considered in advance and must be made immediately after registration. From the moment of registration, the fee will cover the period of one year or one month as chosen (e.g. if you sign up for the annual subscription on June 1, 2022, the fee covers the cost of the service until May 30, 2023; if you sign up for the monthly subscription, the fee covers the cost of the service until June 30, 2022). In the event of early termination, the fees paid will be retained as a termination penalty. In the event of switching to another type of subscription, more or less expensive, the entire amount requested must be paid. No refunds are provided in the event of switching to a less expensive subscription.

The purchase and payment of the fee can be made both on the web platform and through the app and the activation will be completed only after regular payment. 

A free trial period of up to 30 days is guaranteed. During the trial period, no fee is due for the use of the Meedox subscription. Therefore, only after the 30 days of trial have passed, if the user decides to continue using the chosen Meedox subscription, the payment for the chosen subscription will be made.

Payments can only be made online via credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The credit card payment system is managed exclusively by Stripe inc. and no data relating to the used credit cards is stored by Meedox Srl.

Meedox has the right to temporarily or permanently modify the rates applied to its services and the features included for promotional purposes or for the activation of new services; such changes come into effect immediately, upon their publication on https://www.meedox.com/en/home-2/

All rates are always indicated in euros (EUR) and include VAT.

Meedox reserves the right to modify prices on the Platform at any time. Such changes will take effect immediately upon publication. 

6. Invitation codes and/or other offers or discounts

Meedox may unilaterally provide, at any time, invitation codes to be used within the Platform. The User acknowledges and accepts that these invitation codes must be used within twelve (12) months (unless otherwise specified in the expiration date communicated together with the invitation code) from the date on which they are made available to the User on the Platform.

Invitation codes and/or other promotions or discounts offered on the Platform must be correctly entered before proceeding with payment. Otherwise, they will have no effect and the User will not be able to benefit from them.

Meedox reserves the right to unilaterally cancel invitation codes and/or other offers or discounts offered if it becomes aware of fraudulent use of the same (including, for example, an invitation code redeemed by someone who is not the legitimate recipient, mass communication of codes or the sale of codes or discounts), at the end of the period indicated above. Furthermore, it reserves the right to apply sanctions to Users for the amount of which Meedox has been defrauded as a result of such use.

Meedox will not accept any liability in the event that, as a result of a force majeure event or other events beyond its control or justified by necessity, it is forced to cancel, reduce, extend or modify the conditions of the promotions.

In particular, Meedox will not accept any liability if the Platform is unavailable at any time during the promotions or due to malfunction of the automatic promotion system.

Invitation codes are not cumulative. The user can only use 1 (one) invitation code per profile.

It is forbidden for the same User to register multiple times to obtain illicit advantages that are not in good faith, malicious, or that contravene our Terms and Conditions.

7. Right of withdrawal and cancellation of the service

In accordance with the nature of the service offered by Meedox, the User is aware that, once he has activated the paid service, he is not entitled to a refund but only to the cancellation of the tacit renewal.

8. Cost of services

The price of each Subscription varies depending on the number of profiles managed and the coverage period (monthly or annual).

Meedox reserves the right to change prices based on business and market decisions as well as to add other paid services not included in the Subscription.

In accordance with these terms, Users will have the right to know the actual price they will have to pay for their Subscription before purchasing it.

Payment for the service can be made using the following methods, which the User can freely choose from:

  • Monthly payments with automatic renewal: Meedox will collect the total amount of the User in each calendar month by direct debit based on the information provided by the User himself during the underwriting of the Subscription.
  • Annual payments with automatic renewal: Meedox will collect the total amount of the User in each calendar year by direct debit based on the information provided by the User himself during the underwriting of the Subscription.

If the direct debit is cancelled, and consequently the related payment cannot be collected, the renewal of the Subscription will not be carried out and it will no longer be possible for the User to continue using the services offered by the Subscription.

9. Solidarity in Meedox

Meedox collaborates with various institutions, non-profit organizations, charities and non-governmental organizations (hereinafter “Entities” or “Entity”) in charitable and solidarity projects, donation campaigns and non-profit campaigns in some of the countries in which it operates (subject to the applicability in each Country). Meedox acts as an intermediary in the organization of such campaigns and projects, based exclusively on its good faith and its desire to contribute to social initiatives.

Meedox donates part of the Subscription paid by the User in the forms established with the Entity itself.

Meedox does not accept responsibility for the final use or outcome of such campaigns. Furthermore, it does not provide any security or guarantee, and does not accept any legal responsibility in relation for the way in which donations are used by the Entities and has no control over this aspect.

10. User Obligations

Users are fully responsible for the proper use of their profile and access to it and other content of the Platform, which they undertake to adopt in accordance with the legislation in force, national or international, of the country from which they are using the Platform, as well as with the principles of good faith, morals, generally accepted customs and public order. Specifically, they undertake to diligently comply with these General Terms of Use.

Users are responsible for correctly entering their email address and individual passwords, which are not transferable and must be sufficiently complex, and for not using the same login credentials as other platforms and/or online services, all this in order to protect their account from fraudulent use by unauthorized third parties.

Users must avoid using the contents of their profile and other platforms for illegal purposes or with illegal results that damage the rights and interests of third parties or that may in any way damage, disable, impair or compromise the Platform and its contents and services. Furthermore, they must not prevent the normal use or enjoyment of the Platform by other Users.

Meedox may not be considered as having editorial responsibility and expressly declares that it does not identify with the opinions expressed by Users on the Platform, the consequences of which will be the sole responsibility of those who express them.

Any person who violates the above obligations will be responsible for any loss or damage caused by them. Meedox will not accept any responsibility for any consequence, loss or damage resulting from such illegal use or access by third parties.

In general, Users undertake by way of example but not limited to:

  • To avoid altering or modifying the Platform, in whole or in part, by bypassing, disabling or otherwise tampering with its functions or services;
  • To avoid violating industrial and intellectual property rights or legislation on the protection of personal data;
  • To avoid using the Platform to insult, defame, threaten or harass other Users or to attack their image;
  • To avoid accessing the email accounts of other Users;
  • To avoid introducing computer viruses, corrupted files or any other software that may cause damage or alterations to the contents or systems of Meedox or third parties;
  • To avoid sending mass and/or periodic emails to different people or sending third party email addresses without their consent;
  • To avoid advertising goods or services without the prior consent of Meedox.

Any User may report another User if they believe that the latter is violating these General Terms of Use. Likewise, any User may inform Meedox of any abuse or violation of these terms through the Contact Form. Meedox will verify such reports as soon as possible and will take any action it deems appropriate, reserving the right to remove and/or suspend any User from the Platform for violation of these General Terms of Use. Furthermore, Meedox reserves the right to remove and/or suspend any message with illegal or offensive content without the need for prior notice or subsequent notification.

11. De-registration by Users

Users can de-register from the Platform using the account deletion function from the settings menu.

12. Meedox Responsibility

Users are responsible for having the services and equipment necessary to navigate the Internet and access the Platform. Users may report to Meedox any incident or problem in accessing the Platform using the contact channels made available to Users and Meedox will analyze the incident and provide instructions to the User on how to resolve it as soon as possible.

Meedox does not control, and is not responsible for, the content uploaded by Users through the Platform and Users are solely responsible for the possible illegality and/or unlawfulness of such content.

Meedox will not be responsible for service interruptions, connection errors, unavailability of, or errors in, Internet access service or Internet interruptions or for any matter beyond its control.

Meedox accepts no responsibility for any security errors that may occur or for any damage that may be caused to the User’s computer system (hardware and software) or to the files or documents stored therein, as a result of:

  • The presence of a virus in the User’s computer system or mobile phone used to connect to the contents and services of the Platform;
  • A malfunction of the browser and/or smartphone and/or its operating system;
  • The use of dated versions of the browser and/or smartphone and/or its operating system.

13. Liability for content

Meedox does not control (and has no obligation to control) how Users use the Platform. Therefore, it does not guarantee that Users use the Platform in accordance with these General Terms of Use or in a diligent and/or prudent manner. Meedox does not verify (and has no obligation to verify) the identity of Users or the truthfulness, actual validity, completeness and/or authenticity of the data provided by them.

Meedox declines any responsibility for damages of any kind arising from the illegal and/or illicit use of the Platform by Users or due to untrue information provided by Users to other Users about themselves, or no longer valid, incomplete and/or false and, in particular and without limitation, for any loss or damage of any kind due to the fact that a User impersonates a third party in any type of communication made through the Platform. In particular, Meedox does not accept any responsibility for the use of the Platform by a third party from the User’s account.

Without prejudice to the foregoing, Meedox reserves the right to limit, in whole or in part, access to the Platform for certain Users, as well as to cancel, suspend, block or remove certain types of content, through appropriate technological means, in the event that it becomes aware, or there are other signs, that the activity or information stored is illegal or harmful to the rights or property of a third party. To this end, Meedox may establish any necessary filter to prevent the service from being used to upload illegal, harmful or otherwise non-compliant content to the Internet with a proper use of the services made available by the Platform. By making content available through the Platform, Users assign to Meedox all exploitation rights in anonymized form arising from the content provided.

14. Updates and changes to the Platform

Meedox reserves the right to modify these General Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, the Artificial Intelligence Policy and the Cookies Policy at any time and without prior notice. Users must carefully read these General Terms of Use when accessing the Platform. In any case, acceptance of the General Terms is an essential step to be performed before accessing the services and content available through the Meedox Platform.

Furthermore, Meedox reserves the right to update, modify or delete the information contained in its Platform, at any time and without prior notice, with respect to its layout, presentation and conditions of access, without accepting any liability in relation thereto. Meedox does not guarantee the absence of errors or interruptions when accessing the Platform or its content, or that the Platform will always be up to date. Without prejudice to the foregoing, Meedox shall, except in the case of circumstances that make it difficult or impossible, take all necessary or sufficient steps to correct such errors, restore communication and update the content as soon as it becomes aware of the errors or disconnections or outdated content.

Changes will be notified via email or in the App and the continued use of the platform after a change will constitute acceptance of the change.

15. Intellectual property

Meedox is the owner or licensee of all intellectual and industrial property rights included in the Platform as well as the contents that can be accessed through them. The intellectual property rights of the Platform, as well as the text, images, graphics, navigation structure, information and contents included, are the property of Meedox, which holds the exclusive right to exercise the exploitation rights in any way, in particular the rights of reproduction, distribution, publication and transformation, in accordance with Italian legislation on intellectual and industrial property rights.

Authorizing a User to access the Platform does not imply the waiver, transfer, license or total or partial assignment of any intellectual or industrial property rights. It is forbidden to delete, bypass or tamper in any way with the content of the Meedox Platform. Furthermore, it is forbidden to modify, copy, reuse, exploit, reproduce, advertise, make second or subsequent publications, upload files, send by mail, transmit, use, process or distribute in any way all or some of the content included in the Meedox Platform for public or commercial purposes, except with the express written authorization of Meedox or, where applicable, that of the owner of the rights concerned.

Any User who shares content of any kind through the Platform declares to have the necessary rights to do so, indemnifying Meedox from any liability related to the content and legitimacy of the information provided. By providing content through the Platform, Users assign to Meedox, free of charge and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable legislation, the exploitation rights on the intellectual or industrial property arising from such content.

16. Divisibility

If any clause of these General Terms is voidable or invalid under the law, such clause will be deemed not to be included. Such declaration of nullity will not cause the cancellation of the other clauses, which will remain valid and in force between the Parties.

17. Applicable law

The relationship between Meedox and the User will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with these General Terms, the interpretation, validity and application of which will be governed by Italian law and any dispute will be submitted to the Courts of Rome.

18. Alternative dispute resolution

Any dispute or disagreement arising outside the European Union will be submitted to the Italian Arbitration Court of the Chamber of Commerce.

 19. Specific terms and conditions

These terms and conditions will apply to Users who underwrite a Meedox Subscription. These Terms and Conditions do not replace the General Terms of Use of the Platform; in any case, they integrate them and can be modified and extended by Meedox at any time.

What is Meedox Subscription?

With the Meedox Subscription, the User will be able to manage other profiles within the Platform in conjunction with the management of his/her own profile, in exchange for a fixed monthly or annual cost.

Subwriting of Subscription Process

To subwrite to the Subscription, you must have an active Meedox account and therefore be a User of the Platform.

The Subscription is activated through the following process:

  • log in to your account;
  • enter the section entitled “Your premium”;
  • select the type of Subscription desired;
  • register your payment details;
  • the payment date will be the Subscription start date (hereinafter “Activation Date”) and the Subscription will be valid for a period of one month or one year depending on the chosen method. On the Activation Date, the User who has subscribed to the Subscription will receive an email confirming the subscription to the address provided to Meedox during registration;
  • after the Activation Date, a trial period of the Subscription services begins for one month, at the end of which payment will be made automatically and the actual Subscription period will begin (of one month or one year depending on what was chosen during the subscription phase);
  • Users will find all the informations relating to the Subscription in the “Your premium” section of the application. Here, they will be able to check the remaining time of their free trial period, if applicable, as well as, among other things, cancel their Subscription.


Subscription period

  1. The Meedox subscription period may last for a:
  • month: will last for one month until the day immediately preceding the equivalent date of the following month (hereinafter “Monthly”), starting from the Activation Date, and will be renewed every month unless the User cancels the Subscription. Therefore, if the Activation Date is October 10, the Monthly will have to be renewed on November 10;
  • year: will be valid for one year until the day immediately preceding the equivalent date of the following year (hereinafter “Annual”), starting from the Activation Date, and must be renewed every year. Therefore, if the Activation Date is October 10, the Annual must be renewed on October 10 of the following year.
  1. By accepting these terms and conditions, Users agree that the Subscription will be automatically renewed until expressly cancelled.


Right of withdrawal

  1. If you wish to exercise the right of withdrawal, before the end of the Monthly or Annual (hereinafter “Expiration”) of the Subscription you must access the “Your Premium” section of the account and deselect automatic renewal, the Subscription will remain active until its expiration and will no longer be renewed.
  2. Your account will no longer be able to manage additional profiles after the Subscription Expiration. This means that you can continue to manage all additional profiles after turning off automatic renewal or canceling your subscription until the day of expiration.
  3. To avoid being charged for renewal, you must exercise your right of withdrawal at least two (2) business days before the Subscription Expiration.
  4. Payments are non-refundable and no refunds or credits will be provided for unused or partially used Subscription periods. No refunds or credits will be provided for partial subscription periods either.
  5. If you have decided to cancel your Subscription or have decided not to renew it, you will be able to continue to use the Platform even after its expiration to manage your profile and possibly download and/or delete additional profiles that can no longer be managed. You can reactivate your Subscription at any time (without a trial period) and go back to managing additional profiles created previously.


Service costs

  1. The cost of the Subscription will be the amount specified in the commercial offer or in the “Your Premium” section, unless the User has been granted an invitation code pursuant to Section 6 “Invitation codes and/or other offers or discounts” herein.
  2. The indicated Subscription costs include any indirect taxes that may apply.
  3. The fee will be automatically charged on a monthly or annual basis from the Activation Date to the payment method designated by the User after the free trial period.
  4. Meedox reserves the right to change the fees at any time after notifying its subscribers. Once such notification is sent, Meedox may charge the new amounts at the next renewal of the Subscription.


Fraud and account blocking

In the event that Meedox detects any signs of improper and/or fraudulent use of the Meedox account, it may, automatically and without prior notice, deactivate the Subscription and, in addition to that and at any time, the User’s account, reserving the right to take any legal action based on the seriousness of the circumstances in question. Furthermore, Meedox reserves the right to cancel Subscriptions at its sole discretion by providing prior notice to Users.

User Support Service

Meedox will make available to all Users an appropriate Contact Form to report any incidents relating to the services offered.

1. Meedox may at its discretion provide the services of the Platform free of charge for as long as it deems necessary and only to Users it deems appropriate.

2. At the end of the free trial period, Users will be required to pay the cost of the Subscription to continue using the services and to comply with the same terms and conditions applicable to all other Meedox Users.

3. If the Meedox Subscription is cancelled, whether accidentally or for any other reason, before the end of the relevant free trial period, the free trial offer is considered completed and a new free trial period will not be offered under any circumstances.

4. Meedox reserves the right to randomly choose Users to whom it will offer a free trial period or, where applicable, other promotions relating to the service.

Applicable law

The relationship between Meedox and each subscriber will be governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, these Terms and Conditions, the interpretation, validity and application of which will be governed by Italian law and any dispute will be submitted to the Courts of Rome.
