VIDES, as an educational agency and international development cooperation organization, updates Don Bosco’s charism by reaching out and offering itself to all young people.

To achieve the aforementioned purposes, VIDES undertakes to develop and implement projects, activities and initiatives of a training, educational, information, technical and professional nature with reference to human, cultural, socio-economic development programs in Italy and all abroad and with particular attention to the issues of social justice, equity and respect for human rights, the protection of creation and the strengthening of the role of women.

It collaborates with Organizations and Institutions that carry out initiatives and activities through volunteering and cooperation, in the field of national and international development, with particular attention to the education, promotion, protection and training of children, adolescents and women.

It carries out networked projects with Public Bodies, Social Services, Educational Institutions, Family Homes for:

• The prevention of youth distress.
• The support and recovery of children in difficulty.
• Entertainment for free time and summer activities.
• Animation with intercultural and street educators.
• The literacy of immigrants.
• The opening of listening and reception centers.

VIDES undertakes to carry out its activities in compliance with the laws in force with funding provided by public and private institutions and through adequate fundraising methods.

The VIDES proposal, which has always been open to welcoming anyone who wants to experiment in the field and accepts to undertake a path of formation, reaches young people in a particular way, without excluding adults, in the belief that, at least once in their life, it is fundamental to have an experience of solidarity and gratuitousness, regardless of the duration of the service, to experience the joy of associating and sharing a common goal.
